National Fireplace Institute (NFI) Certificated

Continued education and training is part of high standards set for the specialists at Fire Works Fireplace. It’s one of the reasons they take part in the certifications offered through the National Fireplace Institute. The NFI is the professional certification division of the Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Education Foundation, a non-profit educational organization for the hearth industry. NFI’s certifications have quickly become the standard for a growing number of states as the premier requirement for hearth installations. They award 3 certifications: Gas Specialist, Woodburning Specialist, and Pellet Specialist. The purpose of these comprehensive certifications is to help building officials, code officials, and the general public recognize who the professionals are.

Harlan Hill, owner of Fire Works Fireplace, holds all 3 of the certifications. As a Gas specialist he has demonstrated knowledge of fireplaces, log sets and stoves along with their ventilation system. As a Wood Burning Specialist he has proven knowledge of freestanding stoves, fireplace inserts, built-in appliances and venting systems. As Pellet Specialist Harlan has demonstrated his knowledge of freestanding stoves, fireplace inserts, built-in appliances, and venting systems. The NFI recognizes the individuals who hold all three certifications Master Hearth Professionals, individuals who have reached the highest level of certification in the hearth industry.
